PINK GmbH Thermosysteme sponsors “Dirt Torpedo” project at DHBW Mosbach

A small team of students from the DHBW Mosbach celebrated a phenomenal success.

Elon Musk was looking for the world’s fastest tunnel boring machine in the global “Not-a-Boring Competition”. In this context, DHBW team members from the fields of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and computer science developed the “Dirt Torpedo”. Out of 400 competitors, the “Dirt Torpedo” made it to the final of the competition, which took place in the USA in mid-September.

The DHBW was supported in the project by around 40 companies and sponsors. Among them was PINK GmbH Thermosysteme, which made a donation of 15,000 euros. As the DHBW Mosbach itself is the dual partner university of PINK GmbH Thermosysteme, it was a matter of course for PINK to support it in this unique competition, especially in view of the renowned major competitors such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) or the Technical University of Munich. The DHBW team and their “Dirt Torpedo” were unfortunately eliminated in the final.

Final in the USA: The "Dirt Torpedo" in California's Mojave Desert.
